When every step is an inch of crawl,
Every slip is a mighty fall,Every toy is a broken doll,
And every hour is a silent call;
In the hour of helplessness,
And with a soul full of restlessness,
When the angels call,
And there is nothing to ask for;
Because the spirit is broken,
And the thoughts are endless
But when the mother calls,
Don't let her see your tears fall.
Just lay your head,
And hide in her lap,
With her hand on your forehead,
Wrap yourself in a shawl;
For you'll find your peace there,
And the love you need,
The wounds will heal,
And you'll again be able to walk tall.
Then promise yourself,
To always be there for her,
To be everything she would ever need,
To be the one she could trust anything for;
Because since the day she had you,
She gave you her all;
And there is nothing more to ask for,
So, never make excuses and never let her fall.
